About Jamie Jenkins

I am a researcher at the University of Helsinki working on marine and energy governance, sustainability transitions and public engagement.

My research focuses on how governance arrangements, policy instruments and participatory processes shape sustainability transitions in marine and energy systems. I am particularly interested in governance effectiveness, energy justice, and the role of citizens and stakeholders in sustainability transitions.

I am based in Finland and have an international background, having lived and studied in the UK and Australia. My research is mainly situated in the Baltic Sea and Nordic context.

Methodologically, I work with qualitative and mixed methods, including policy analysis, interviews, stakeholder workshops and futures-oriented approaches.

I also design and teach courses on marine and energy governance and regularly engage in public communication and stakeholder-oriented research projects.
